Study the relationships between two items to look into possible connections between items. Throughout history different cultures have looked to the sky for answers that may determine their survival and livelihood. Patterns in solar observations helped to determine crucial times such as when to plant and when to harvest the food to ensure the survival of the group. The first activity is designed to help make connections between events and the seasons of the year. One major connection relates the concept of the seasons to past observations. In the second activity, visualize the four key observation dates located in activity one, from a viewpoint in space looking down on the circle created. Look at the impact of the EArth's orbit around the Sun on seasons.
